1984

  • On 2 January 1984 the Company is incepted under the brand name "PERCEPTIONS" at Mittal Towers, Nariman Point, Mumbai. The brand name was shortened within a few months to PERCEPT.

1992

  • Becomes the 2nd largest financial agency in India.
  • Launch of the Public Relations division - Percept Profile.

1993

  • Launches the production and content business - Tyger Productions.

1994

  • Pioneers the concept of 'IMC' - Integrated Marketing Communications in India.

1995

  • Launch of the Sports Marketing business with the BSI Masters Tournament - Percept D'Mark (better known as PDM and later re-branded Percept Sports & Entertainment).

2000

  • Percept initiates the policy of "Employee Entrepreneur Partners" with the launch of AMO Communications.
  • The "dot-com" boom and the rapid spread of the internet and new media in India lead to the launch of Web Percept - a JV with NetWeb Solutions.
  • Percept aligns with global media independent Aegis and establishes a JV with Carat India.
  • Hakuhodo Inc. buys out Chuo Senko's India operations. Percept Chuo Senko is re-branded as Hakuhodo Percept and the partnership with Hakuhodo begins.

2002

  • Consolidates and restructures the Content business under a new brand name - Percept Picture Company (later re-branded Percept Pictures).
  • PDM Gulf is launched to broad base Percept's service offerings in the Middle East.
  • Percept embarks on a plan of strategic acquisitions as a key to growth - acquires the leading financial advertising agency Imageads.

2003

  • Acquires majority stake in Tiger Sports Marketing - India's no. 1 golfing event management company.

2004

  • Launches a specialized Entertainment Marketing services company - P9 Integrated.
  • Acquires the advertising agency Percept Swift located in Indore, to expand Percept's communication service offerings across Central India.
  • Percept crosses the INR 10 Billion (USD 225 Million) capitalized billings milestone.

2005

  • Launches Posterscope India (later re-branded Percept Out Of Home), a joint venture with the Aegis Group.
  • Percept Gulf Fz LLc is launched to broad base services in the communications space in the Middle East arena.
  • Percept Profile Gulf is launched to enhance the PR service offerings in the Middle East region.
  • Perspectrum is launched with three objectives - to build a knowledge bank, to integrate the Percept range of services, and to offer Integrated Marketing Consultancy.
  • Acquires a majority stake in Clea PR.
  • Percept IMC is re-branded as Percept Holdings.

2006

  • Percept & Aegis restructures the India partnerships - Percept buys back all of Aegis' shareholdings to attain 100% ownership of PDM India, Posterscope India, and its own Media business.
  • Percept launches Allied Media - a full 360 degree media service, offering turnkey solutions in both conventional and new age media.

2007

  • Percept acquired ByDesign India - a one-stop source agency for creative communication solutions and merged with Imageads, a Percept agency, to form IBD India Pvt. Ltd.
  • Percept Picture Company forayed into Distribution with Sony Pictures' Spiderman 3.
  • Launched Percept Talent Management - a 360 degree Talent cum Brand Custodian Company.
  • Launched Percept Knorigin - a tech media & service provider, to strengthen its portfolio of media and marketing offerings.
  • Launched Bollywood Corporation Pvt. Ltd. - an exclusive 'touch & feel' Bollywood experience in the arenas of Bollywood Entertainment, Hospitality, Retail & Merchandising.
  • Percept Picture Company launched PPC Cause Cinema in partnership with India's wellness guide and mentor Ms. Sunita Menon. PPC Cause Cinema will seek to create and market cinema with a specific social intent and message.
  • P9 Integrated launched P9 Searchlight to provide tailor-made marketing solutions to the increasing breed of concept cinema and budgeted films.
  • PDM India launched its new proprietary properties in the field of music titled Sunburn & Metalfest.

2008

  • Percept Holdings renames its lead operating and holding company as Percept Limited.
  • Percept Knorigin acquires Searchize - a search engine marketing company.
  • Allied Media is ranked No. 5 in its first full year of operations (Brand Equity Agency Reckoner – Media Agency Listing).

2009

  • Percept launches Cinecurry.com – a site providing entertainment and event related news from Bollywood, Hollywood and other Regional Indian cinema.
  • Percept Picture Company (PPC) launches "PPC HORROTAINMENT" – A Division to create Films in the 'Horror' Genre thereby becoming the first studio to launch a dedicated division for the Horror Genre.
  • Percept commemorates 25 years of success in the Entertainment, Media and Communications domain.
  • Percept Talent launches CelebTrackTM - the world's deepest, widest and largest research wave on celebrities.
  • Percept restructures its business domains into three business groups viz. Percept Entertainment Group, Percept Media Group, and Percept Communication Group.
  • Percept launches the Intellectual Property 'Goa Super Sixes' - India's first premium Annual Corporate Cricket Tournament.
  • Percept Media climbs up to No. 4 position (Brand Equity Agency Reckoner – Media Agency Listing).

2010

  • Percept enters into a four year exclusive marketing deal with the Indian Boxing Federation.
  • Percept launches the IP 'Fight Night' – India's first ever Indoor Exhibition Boxing Bouts between top Indian and international boxers.
  • Percept Launches the IP 'SLUMGOD' – the dance championship. A CSR initiative tapping, training, grooming and promoting deprived yet talented kids living in the slum areas.
  • Percept and Shiamak Davar join hands to make a social difference through DANCE by launching four entertainment and dance based initiatives with the ultimate goal of making a social difference - G.O.D. - Go On Dancing, Slumgod Dance Championship, I Believe with Shiamak, Dancer (Shiamak Davar's directorial debut).
  • Percept ties up with Brand Gallery, USA to commence an era of specialized branding solutions and positioning strategies to Broadcasters, Media & Entertainment companies across the Indian subcontinent.
  • Percept launches a new SBU 'Percept Activ' to beef up the Brand Activation business.
  • Percept/H launches 9122 Inc. - A Division of Percept/H to revolutionize the Design & Brand Consultancy domain.
  • Percept launches the global IP ' Good Luck India' – wherein the vox populi of India attain an opportunity to send in their messages & wishes for India centric campaigns, activities, games and causes.

2011

  • Percept Sport ties up with WTR Ten10 Racing - India's first MotoGP Team.
  • Percept launches the IP 'Champions of the World' to bring together the most celebrated super icons in the arena of Sports, Cinema, Music, Business, Entertainment and Entrepreneurship.
  • Percept launches the IP 'Bollywood Live' – the first multi-city LIVE Bollywood Dance Music festival.
  • Percept launches the IP 'Slamfest' – the World's first ever Slam Book Festival.
  • Percept Knorigin and Alcatel Lucent strategically collaborate to expand the distribution of digital entertainment content to mobile subscribers across India.
  • Percept and Pointlogic enter into a strategic alliance to launch Integrated Intelligence Services for marketers in India unveiling a new era in media & communication metrics and optimization.

  • Sunburn spreads its wings pan-India with the successful advent of 'Sunburn Mumbai', followed by 'Sunburn Noida'.
  • 'i-am' associates – UK's premiere brand experience consultancy, partners with Percept to launch their India operations.
  • Percept launches 'Percept Live' – A Global Entertainment Venture, which encompasses all the Intellectual Properties created and owned by the Percept Group across the Entertainment, Sports, Fashion, Talent, Digital and Media Space.

  • Shailendra Singh becomes the first Indian to make it to the EDM’s POWER 50 global rankings

2014

  • Percept restructures and consolidates the Marketing Communications businesses into a single business entity 'Percept One'
  • Sunburn ventures into the UAE with the tremendously successful Sunburn Arena Tour in Dubai
  • Percept Activ is ranked No. 4 in the Brand Equity Agency Reckoner – Marketing Services Promotions listing
  • Percept Media in association with Netherland's based Point Logic publishes and launches the 'All India Shopper Research 2014' Report

2015

  • Sunburn Goa ranked in the Top 3 Global Music Festivals at par with ‘Tomorrowland’ and ‘Ultra Miami’ by the IMS APAC Business Report 2014
  • Percept integrates Media Companies into a single entity ‘Percept Media’

2016

  • Percept Media joins forces with leading independent media agencies across 40 countries to form a new global media agency network ”Local Planet”
  • Percept Pictures ventures into the Digital domain with its first Award winning Short Film (aids + b) ²
