The Percept Business Conclave 2013 held on the afternoon of Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai, witnessed a mix of Panel Discussions and Guest Speakers who were some of the most renowned names in the corporate and media fraternity.

Rajdeep Sardesai (Editor-in-chief, IBN18 Network) spoke on the topic "The Media Revolution: Boon or Bane in Today’s India?" and explored the various pros and cons that came along with the media explosion witnessed pan India today.

Amish Tripathi, bestselling author of the Shiva Trilogy spoke on ‘Thinking out of the Box’. It was a fascinating recount of breaking pre-conceived moulds and barriers and how it could apply to every individual across both corporate and personal levels.

Manish Sharma (Chief Executive Officer, Panasonic India) spoke about "A Quest in Excellence" and shared deep insights and fascinating case studies on winning in adverse market scenarios and how to reinvent and innovate when the going gets tough.

Investment Guru Rakesh Jhunjhunwala (Owner, Rare Enterprises) spoke on ‘Creating Value’ and shared invaluable views on ‘creating sustainable value’ in business along with maintaining the fine balance between work and life peppered with a few interesting case studies that was of great significance and bearing with the audience.

The Panel Discussion entitled ‘Marketing Myopia’ featured Ajay Kelkar (Co founder and Chief Operating Officer, Hansa Cequity), Deepali Naair (Country Head - Brand, Corporate Communications & Customer Service, L&T General Insurance Company Limited), Subrat Pani (Co-Founder, OneAssist Consumer Solutions Pvt Ltd), and Bedraj Tripathy (Marketing Head, Godrej Interio). This discussion was moderated by Akash Sahai (Managing Director, AIMEA). The topic explored how companies and thought leaders have often faced a dilemma in expanding from their core competency. While some ventured and expanded to their full potential, others lost sight of their original core competency and never regain their footing after going down the tempting business expansion road. The same held true for some marketers who continued to play within the threshold of their self imposed limits and never realized the full potential of their ideas. The panel tried to explore the balanced recipe for success between expansion and maintaining a focus on core competency areas.

Shailendra Singh (Joint Managing Director, Percept Limited) shared a tete a tete with Shravan Kumaran (President, Go Dimensions) and Sanjay Kumaran (Chief Executive Officer, Go Dimensions). The topic of discussion was ‘Moving from Just Do It to Just Done It’. The interview focused on the common thread that binds high achievers and how barriers and failures at a task were only seen as a great learning experience to step up their courage, determination, and confidence, all the while keeping their achievements in perspective.  

The Panelists & Guest speakers were eminent, articulate and vociferous in their views and the manifold topics witnessed many lively debates and Q&As between the 200 guests attending and the speakers on the podium. All in all, a power packed, memorable and enlightening Percept Business Conclave 2013!
