Sunburn Music Festival Revived After 10 Years in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachalees will get to savor the Asia’s largest electronic music and dance festival – Sunburn Festival on November 4, 2017.

BLUES Initiative, an event management team from Arunachal Pradesh has taken the initiative to revive the Sunburn Festival (SF) that was last organised in 2007.

Sunburn, Asia’s largest electronic music and dance (EDM) festival, will be celebrate at IG Park here on November 4.

“SF is celebrated every year in different States of the country. We are happy to celebrate it in our State this time,” Tagru Ponung, Director of BLUES Initiative, told reporters at Arunachal Press Club here. “Our State has many festivals but we hope to make SF the best ever EDM festival. As the festival is popular across the world, the Arunachal edition is expected to promote musical tourism,” he said.

Tana Doni, Coordinator of Sunburn Reloaded, said emphasis during the festival will be to keep the surroundings clean. Bringing alcohol from outside will not be allowed as there will be two official alcohol stalls, he added.

“An entry ticket will cost a minimum Rs 500. We expect 3,000-5,000 electronic music lovers will turn up for the festival, designed to be a platform for local DJs too,” Doni said.

Popular DJ Teri Meko will be in action at the festival, Doni said, appreciating the support from the Capital Complex administration. “We hope support from the Tourism department too.”
