Karan Singh, CEO, Sunburn Global, said, "With Sunburn moving to Pune, the festival has become more affordable and accessible to our audiences. Pune is a fantastic host city with the right mix of the people and the infrastructure to support a festival of such magnitude. This year due to heightened security measures, we have adopted extensive state approved measures to ensure a catastrophe-free festival given that visitors' safety has always been paramount at the event. We've built our festival step by step over the last 12 years, from 5,000 people in the first year to the global movement it has shaped up into today. It's our life's work, which we are very proud of and want to keep building on over the next few decades and generations. Two of the most important ingredients in everything we've done since day one are passion and dedication to create the ultimate experience in every aspect of the festival. Creating Sunburn is not a task for us - it's really what we breathe every day. Although we've become a much bigger and more professional organization, I can still feel the exact same energy that we began with today, which is essential to keep exceeding expectations year after year!"
On the historic wrap up of one of the biggest NYE celebrations in Asia, Karan Singh further added, “Sunburn 12 was truly historical in every aspect. The event witnessed a colossal turnout with some of the biggest headliners, top of the line security measures and world-class production and design. The event was streamed live and watched by millions of fans across the globe with on-ground 5 lakh fan participation from more than 40 countries over 3 days. Our live streaming allowed more than 5 million fans from different parts of the world to experience Sunburn without being physically present. Without the continuous support from the fans and the government, we wouldn’t have reached this milestone today. The locals of Pune have benefitted greatly right from transportation to F&B. A special thanks to the Maharashtra Government and associated partners without which Sunburn 2018 wouldn't be rated amongst the top players in the world.”
