Percept's online concert, 'Sunburn for Goa' raises funds to help the state fight COVID-19

The biggest musical gala & fundraiser, 'Sunburn for Goa', went live on Saturday, featuring world's #1DJ including Dimitri Vegas and Like Mine. This online event was specifically organised in association with Facebook and Give India to raise funds through donations & Goa fight against the coronavirus.

Music to the rescue
The online, pre-recorded EDM event which went live worldwide on Facebook, on Saturday evening was approved by the State Cabinet earlier in the month of August. With a feature line up of DJs like Dimitri Vegas and Like Mine, the event raised around 25 lakh in the first few minutes across various social media and fundraising platforms. All donations were contributed to the Goa CM's COVID-19 Relief Fund.
"Sunburn Festival is back! From the comfort of your home, dance on the beats of some of the best DJs of the world, including Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. This event is organised for the love of our beloved Goa. Donations will be directed to Goa's Covid-19 relief fund," tweeted Goa Tourism, playing the part of the host with respect to its alliance with Percept Live, the main organisers of the fundraising event.
Sunburn EDM festival is the biggest musical festival in Asia that has been hosted by Goa over the last several years. This event is usually scheduled for December and is a popular feature and great tourist attraction in the State's tourism calendar.
Knock Knock
Much of Goa's economy is supported by the virtue of the state being a tourist hub. However, since the inception of the global COVID-19 pandemic, and restriction of movement and travel, things have gone for a toss in the state. The 'Sunburn for Goa' online concert was a great means for not only raising awareness and funds to tackle COVID-19 pandemic but also for virtually bringing people from across the globe together and celebrate their love for music in these tough times.
