18 December, 2008

A three-day music and dance festival, 'Sunburn-2008', dedicated to promote peace and global harmony, will kick off at the famous Condolim beach front in North Goa on December 27.

The festival, which will coincide with the festive mood before new year, is being organised by Percept D'Mark.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Percept D'Mark director Nikhil Chinnappa said, ''Apart from being a platform for the best Indian and international artists, the festival serves as Goa's musical gateway to tourism even as efforts to promote it world over is underway.'' Mr Chinnappa said there would be ''zero tolerance'' against any illegal activity, including drugs consumption, while security will be beefed up to ensure smooth conduct of the event in wake of the threat perceptions.

The event, being organised in collaboration with the MTV VJs and others besides UK's Simon Dunmore (DJ) heading the "Defected", would witness about 35 top dance and music artists from around the world playing at four stages over the three days, he said.

Giving further information, Percept Limited, Joint Managing Director Shailendra Singh said, ''We have also planned to compile music with tracks donated by Sunburn artists, the proceeds of which will go for charity.'' Percept D'Mark is a division of the Percept Limited, India's leading experimental brand marketing company, focusing on sports management, fashion and entertainment, brand activation, intellectual properties and wedding management.
