DJ Ankytrixx recollects 2013 31 December, 2013
With more than 100 gigs to his pool of performances, Vh1’s DJ of the Year DJ Ankytrixx, is still continuing to play and get the party moving through his mixes. And this New Year he will be playing at Goa’s new beach club, Sunset Ashram. He plans to play some deep tech house for party-goers who will be present at Sunset Ashram which is located at Ashwem. During a conversation with Radioandmusic.com, he shared his most memorable gig for the 2013. “The most memorable gigs would be the one at ADE in Amsterdam and my 100th Gig at Nido. This year has been fantastic. I am glad to have played 100 gigs, so yes, it is been a crazy year,” he says. His sound is regularly featured in some of the festivals in Indian like Sunburn, Sula Fest, Dusk, Barefoot and also at international festivals like Tree Of Life (Turkey), Pearl Festival (London) and Universal Religion (Nepal). “I have learnt to go with the flow and feel the energy of the people and the place,” says Ankytrixx. Speaking about the music industry in India, he said, “The best part about being in the Indian music industry is that it is still in its formative stage and it is amazing to see the transition that it is going through and to actually be a part of that process.” For 2014, the DJ has some simple plans to make some good music and playing it internationally.
