IIM-A brings Goa's Sunburn to campus
20 December, 2012

This week, Amdavadis can get a taste of the famous Sunburn Festival of Goa at a very unlikely venue - the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A). The institute, which is all geared up to host its four-day annual cultural festival starting December 20, has included Sunburn as one of the events. Sunburn, the electronic dance music festival of Goa, will be replicated by the students of IIM-A with two DJs. The festival will also host live concerts; a theatre performance by Evam on IIM-A alumnus Chetan Bhagat's book; a fashion show; choreography; and a variety of events on different themes. The institute has invited students from various schools to take part in a new event at Chaos - the spelling bee competition. IIM-A has tied up with India Spell Bee to conduct the event for participants from schools and colleges. Apart from a general quiz, Chaos 2012 will also host a Bollywood quiz. "We are expecting a lot of participation for the Bollywood quiz, as it appeals to a larger audience," said PV Sudharshan, a member of the Chaos 2012 team. Dance enthusiasts and those who are interested in learning the art of playing and mixing music can attend workshops on dance and DJing. Other events include Warli painting, potpourri, JAM, soft toy making, singing competition, and fine arts sessions among others. Music-directors duo Vishal and Shekhar; Soulmate, a band from the Northeast; Luke Kenny; and IIM-A alumnus and music director Gaurav Dagaonkar, will be among the performers at the festival.
