Percept Talent Management acquires marketing rights for tennis player Somdev Devvarman
23 October, 2009

Percept Talent Management (PTM), a division of Percept Ltd, has embarked upon an exciting new venture since being hired by Mamba International to provide marketing services for Indian tennis player Somdev Devvarman.

Mamba International, a US-based sports representation agency, represents Devvarman internationally in all aspects of his professional tennis career. Mamba International has retained Percept Talent Management to market the Indian tennis player throughout Asia with an emphasis on India.

Devvarman is reportedly the first Indian player ever to reach the championship match of Association of Tennis Players (ATP) tournament. He entered the professional tennis circuit in June 2008 and is currently ranked 124 on the ATP. With Devvarman on board, PTM will be able to promote an emerging icon of Indian tennis and also raise the popularity of the sport to an even higher level.

Shailendra Singh, Joint MD, Percept Ltd, said, “Tennis has now become a popular sport, it is now about transforming these athletes into brands, and unfortunately even make them bigger than the sport itself. The young population wants India to be a sporting nation, and our approach will be to help Devvarman connect with his TG and the media and thereby attract more people to tennis.”
