Percept ICE, the Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions and Events Domain Company of Percept Limited, successfully unveils the Vodafone Foundation Connected Women Report Launch held at Taj Mansingh, Delhi on 17th July, 2014.
The ‘Connected Women’ report is an initiative of the Vodafone Foundation looking at mobile and women. The report focuses on the mega trends affecting the gender gap. Modelled by Accenture, the report’s key themes include education, health, access and elderly care/inclusion that affect women.
The Report found that providing women with greater access to mobile phones and services could lead to a $29 billion increase in annual global productivity from 2020, as a result of greater female participation in the workforce and savings in public services.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Cherie Blair, Mr.Marten Pieters (MD & CEO Vodafone India) The report, produced by Vodafone Group, supported by the Vodafone Foundation and in collaboration with Oxford University’s said Business School and Accenture Sustainability Services, was released by Cherie Blair, Founder, Cherie Blair Foundation for Women at an event held in New Delhi.
The event had 2 legs - Afternoon session meant for media which saw the launch of Report by Mrs.Cherie Blair followed by panel discussion & interaction with audiences using voting meters and evening sessions for socialites & shortlisted guest from Government & social space which aimed at highlighting the report & mission of Vodafone Foundation providing an opportunity for social engagement.
The evening session was inaugurated by Cherie Blair & Marten Pieters with a lamp lighting ceremony.
Reema Nanavaty was felicitated with the GSMA award for her leadership in the Self Employed Womens Association (SEWA) project.
NDTV 24x7 was the official channel partner for the evening. The panel discussion that took place after the launch saw the likes of Cherie Blair, Marten Pieters, Javed Akhtar, Shobha De, participate with full gusto. It was moderated by Vikram Chandra.
The evening concluded with a lavish dinner spread and cocktails.
